Finance business architecture in banking

A clear understanding of how your business operates and the critical operational data required for accounting, disclosure, and management reporting will support the right design decisions when implementing financial systems.  An end to end financial process perspective will help with clear identification of operational system data elements.  These operational financial and master data need to be “registered” in your financial system (e.g. deposit account balances, products etc.).  This operational data can then form the basis for analytical processes within the financial system (e.g. amortization of fees, fair value, etc.).  Design decisions that ensure a clear separation between operational and analytical, will enable reconciliation between systems.
